Argiculture Training in Holland

What is Agricultural Training in Holland?

Agricultural Training in Holland was created by the Netherlands Embassy. The goal is to provide students with practical training and knowledge of various agricultural subjects in one of the most developed agricultural countries in Europe. The program was designed for young people. There are self-support possibilities to make the stay in Holland affordable.

Every year the Holland Exchange Foundation accepts three hundred trainees. Program participants include students from all over the world, especially from Europe, Japan,USA, Canada, South America and Australia. Participants are divided into groups for training on farms or in greenhouses. Each program differs in duration and subject (flowers, vegetables, etc.). Additional benefits include visits to agricultural firms and landmarks around Holland. All participants congregate twice during the training program, at which time they have short excursions, seminars, and parties.

Program Conditions

The Holland Exchange Foundation offers practical applications and experience for those interested in agricultural specialization. The Foundation provides support and assistance throughout the stay. It oversees training and observation conditions, organizes parties for the participants, and coordinates activities. Participants may choose the 3, 6 or 12 month program. The one year program is the most popular. Participants receive accommodation on farms where they assist with daily agricultural duties. Housing, meals, and pocket money are included. The Foundation pays for medical insurance and social insurance. Upon arrival participants meet with representatives from the Holland Exchange Foundation to receive detailed information about the country.
